First collection of Art Brut in the world.

The museum now has more than 70,000 works by 1,000 authors.
Nearly 700 works are on permanent display in the rooms of the Château de Beaulieu, specially laid out over 4 floors to accommodate the creations of authors appearing in its collections.

The Collection de l'Art Brut pursues its mission through the discovery, study and preservation of these dissident creations. It is actively supported in its various activities bythe Association of Friends of Art Brut (AAAB).

MUSEUM OF ART BRUT AND SINGULAR ART

Within a beautiful Baltard-style architecture, facing the gardens of the Butte Montmartre, the Halle Saint Pierre houses a museum and a gallery, a bookstore, an auditorium, a café. It is in this harmonious and luminous setting that the major temporary exhibitions and the many artistic and cultural activities dedicated to the most unexpected forms of creation are presented.

CONTEMPORARY ART CENTER

The Auberive Abbey Contemporary Art Center has a private collection of figurative contemporary expressionism and singular art. Each year, a thematic exhibition around this collection, the Volot Collection, is presented from June to September...

The house-museum

Opened to the public in 1983, La Fabuloserie is a place imagined and designed by the architect Alain Bourbonnais to house his extraordinary art collection.

This expression was suggested to Alain Bourbonnais by Jean Dubuffet, who wanted the term “art brut” to be reserved for his collection. It designates unusual productions made by self-taught people.
After having opened a gallery in Paris between 1972 and 1982, the Atelier Jacob, Alain Bourbonnais decided to create, with his wife Caroline, a museum which he named “La Fabuloserie”. The space is made up of a “house-museum” where more than a thousand creations are exhibited, ranging from drawings by Yanko Domsic to jamming by Francis Marshall, via the astonishing production of Les Turbulents by Alain Bourbonnais himself. An open-air museum, called "the inhabited garden", presents the sculptures of inhabitants-landscapers: Camille Vidal, Jules Damloup, the weather vanes of Jean Bertholle and the astonishing carousel of Petit Pierre.

The expressionFrank Creationwas established in 1989 byGerard Sendreyafter theLausanne museum, custodian of the collection ofJean Dubuffet, forbids him to use the expression art brut. In the term art, polysemic – do you not speak indiscriminately of martial arts, culinary arts, domestic arts, decorative arts, applied arts, art of living… – it substitutes that of creation, understood as a bringing into the world, a coming out of nothingness; to the term raw, he prefers that of franc in its obsolete sense: free, without hindrance, freed.

Free Creation therefore brings togetherrebellious creators, refractory to all forms of social conventions and who do not fit into institutional schemes.

Located in the south of France, in the heart of the city of Montpellier, in the Beaux-Arts district, this cultural space of more than 800 m2 with a Mediterranean garden offers visitors an important collection. Rich in a collection of approximately 2,000 works, it provides an overview of the various raw, singular and other visionary creators, surrealists from all walks of life, ranging from the "historical" period of the beginning of the 20th century to the Today's International Outsider Art.

The exceptional LaM art brut ensemble has its origins in the history of L'Aracine, an association created by Madeleine Lommel, Claire Teller and Michel Nedjar. In 1999, this association donated to the museum its collection of 3,500 works produced by 170 French and foreign creators (drawings, paintings, assemblages, objects or sculptures, etc.).

BLACK BOX

In parallel with the temporary exhibitions on the walls of the Boite Noire, this site invites you to discover or rediscover in a permanent way, artists with very different universes unearthed according to my artistic strolls.

Even more than simple finds, I simply present to you the artists who make this profession sometimes breathe a little air of magic.

In a few words, my favourites, my friends, my creative family…

Hoping that my choices affect you, I wish you a nice walk in the Black Box.

Let's dream it's time

It is in the heart of Old Tours, in the Arts district, that Florence Fert and Valère Trocquenet have chosen to create their art gallery. An atypical district, where there are many artists' and craftsmen's workshops.

The couple have always shared this passion. Florence Fert has been collaborating for several years with her father, Jean-Claude Fert, at the Fert gallery (located in Yvoire, Haute-Savoie, since 1983) and Valère Trocquenet has made numerous documentaries on contemporary artists.

They therefore decided to open a second gallery in Tours in 2020, Rêvons c'est l'heure, to promote art and defend contemporary figurative painting, drawing and sculpture. Works "which do not seek to agree with the tapestry" but which shake, challenge or invite you to daydream. Portraits of artists and films, produced by Rêvons c'est l'heure, are shown in the gallery.

Art Compulsion

The ARTCOMPULSION Art Gallery is the benchmark for living art online: Singular Art, Outsider Art, Expressionism, Popular Art, Naïve Art, and Contemporary Art.

The Choose Gallery

It is by a common denominator "the passion for art" that Laurent COQUANT gallery owner/dealer for more than 30 years and Henri TRUMER lawyer and amateur enlightened by art and its history, share their passions and their experiences.

From this friendship, in 2019 Henri and Laurent join forces to defend the work of Epsylon Point, street artist and pioneer of urban art in France. This complicity will give birth to an ephemeral space located close to Beaubourg.

Building on this experience, La CHOOSE Galerie opens its doors in January 2020 in the 8th arrondissement in Paris in order to contribute to the development of the French artistic scene in the world.

It was in 2010 that the association "L'Art au paradis" was created. The association wishes to support artistic expression by creating an interdisciplinary meeting point where emerging artists, established artists, artists to discover or rediscover, rub shoulders. The creator and president of the association is Philippe Bréchet, a photographer from Tours.

The Inouïs Curieux association was created in Chaumont in 2014 and its main purpose is the development of the individual through artistic expression and encounters. It offers the animation of plastic and recreational arts workshops for children and the realization of exhibitions and performances of artists in Haute-Marne.

Art D Fay is a collective of professional and recognized artists, brought together to organize exhibitions and artistic events.

Art direction: Francois Chauvet
